Women charged over snail purchase

THREE WOMEN were charged and released yesterday for buying 7.5 kilos of snails from Famagusta in the occupied north. The snails were found in a routine search of a car.
Pyla police stopped a car on the Pyla-Larnaca road driven by a 39-year-old and with two passengers, aged 60 and 62.

UNFICYP issue hunt warning

THE UNITED Nations Forces in Cyprus (UNFICYP) yesterday reissued a statement reminding hunters that pursuing their sport in the Green Line is strictly prohibited.
UNFICYP further warned hunters this year to take all protective measures and practise every caution whilst hunting.

More accidents on Cyprus’ roads

TWO ACCIDENTS occurred on Friday night in the Nicosia district injuring a total of five people.
A 40-year-old from Nicosia, under circumstances still being investigated by the police, lost control of his car in Pallouriotissa and ran over a 16-year-old, also from Nicosia, crossing the street late last night.
