The future of waste

THE CYPRUS-Swiss Association in cooperation with the Agriculture Ministry is organising a conference this Tuesday on special and hazardous waste management, titled ‘The new way forward’.

The event is open to the public and will be held at the International Conference Centre in Nicosia this Tuesday at 6pm.

Two officials from the ministry’s environment service will give a presentation of the strategic plan and legal framework for special and hazardous waste management in Cyprus that will soon be presented to Cabinet.

Beat Frey from the Swiss Agency for the Environment, Forests and Landscape will speak on the Swiss method of waste management. An open discussion will follow.

Agriculture Minister Timis Efthymiou will open the conference.
