More accidents on Cyprus’ roads

TWO ACCIDENTS occurred on Friday night in the Nicosia district injuring a total of five people.
A 40-year-old from Nicosia, under circumstances still being investigated by the police, lost control of his car in Pallouriotissa and ran over a 16-year-old, also from Nicosia, crossing the street late last night.

The youngster was taken to Nicosia General Hospital where he was treated for head injuries. The driver was breathalysed and found to be over the alcohol limit.

Earlier in Deftera, a 17-year-old unlicensed driver, with three 14-year-old passengers, lost control and collided with a telephone pole.

All four youngsters were injured in the crash with the Fire Department summoned to free the trapped driver, who is said to be in critical condition, from the wreckage of the vehicle.
