IN THEIR annual Easter wishes, the Forestry Department sends has warned of the dangers to the forests from all the Easter festivities. The department has asked the public to be extra careful and always light their fires inside the permitted areas and not to harm any of the plantations.
The department has also put in a special request for the young faithful to be especially careful in the traditional lighting of the lambradja.

People who will be visiting the churches of Ayios Georgios of Kafkalou and Panayias of Asinou are advised to use the grills that are already set up on the grounds of Kapoura, Platania, Xerarkakas and Frakti Xyliatou. Anyone who sees a fire in any forest should contact the Forestry Department at once.
