Car gutted Limassol arson

A LIMASSOL man has reported that his convertible car was set on fire while it was parked outside his home, police said.

The arson took place during the early hours of Tuesday. The man, who runs a Limassol-based company, parked the £15,000 company car outside his house on Monday night and discovered its singed remains the next morning.

Police determined the car was intentionally set alight. The vehicle’s soft-top roof was sliced open with a knife and a lighted torch thrown in.

The fire burned out on its own and did not spread. Police are investigating the case.
