Palestinian kidnapped and mugged

A 30-YEAR-old Palestinian man was left lying helpless after he was kidnapped, beaten and robbed in Limassol on Wednesday night.

Six men are wanted in connection with incident.

The 30-year-old victim and a 37-year-old Syrian friend arranged to meet with another Palestinian in an open area in Polemidia to settle financial differences. Instead of finding the man who had arranged the meeting, however, the pair was met by four men, who forced the 30-year-old into their car at knifepoint and sped off.

The 37-year-old, who was left behind, reported his friend’s abduction immediately.
Meanwhile the assailants took the 30-year-old to a remote area between Yermasoyia and Moutayiaka, where with two other people, they beat their victim senseless, stealing £130 from him, as well as his mobile phone and his boots.

The Palestinian eventually regained consciousness and managed to flag down a passing car, whose driver took him to the nearest police station where he reported the incident.
A medical examination of the victim confirmed he had suffered bruises to all of his body.

Police are looking for the person who arranged the meeting with the 30-year-old, as he is thought to be the link to tracing the other four men.
