Don’t scar your landscape with wind farms

Sir,
I read with much dismay your report that there are to be wind farms on Cyprus. I currently live in the UK and when I visit the once beautiful Yorkshire Dales scarred by armies of these wind turbines, I wonder why they would spoil such views for so little gain (there has been a report that says the output from them is nowhere near what is claimed), as there will hardly be a place in the island where they won’t be visible.
If the green lobby want to stop a lot more visitors coming to Cyprus, they could hardly think of a better way. Have they not heard of non-invasive qualities of solar power which does not look awful, cannot be seen for 20 miles and is efficient?
