Boy dies from accident wounds

A FIVE-YEAR-OLD Russian boy died yesterday after being critically injured in a road accident earlier this month, police said.

The boy had been at Nicosia general hospital since May 9 following an accident in Mesogi, Paphos.

The child was seriously injured when he was knocked down by a 61-year-old motorist when he attempted to cross the road.

He was rushed to Paphos general hospital with severe head injuries but due to the seriousness of his condition was transferred to Nicosia.

Paphos traffic police is still investigating the cause of the accident.

Police would not yesterday release the child’s name.
