Duo held on forgery charges

THE Paphos District Court yesterday remanded two Romanians for eight days following their arrest on forgery charges on Tuesday.

The two men, aged 21 and 25, were arrested after the manager of a commercial bank in the town reported that two men were acting suspiciously outside the premises.
Police officers who arrived at the scene discovered that the pair had positioned a mobile phone camera on an ATM.

The camera was used to capture the personal data of customers who were using their cards to withdraw money.

After arresting the men, police found a number of credit card and PIN numbers in their possession, as well as other devices police believe were used for personal data theft.
