Farmers dismiss milk results

FARMERS have challenged the results of recent tests by the State Lab that indicated aflatoxin levels over the permissible limits in fresh milk dairy farms in Larnaca on Friday.

Sheep and Goat Farmers’ Association president Spyros Leventis told CyBC radio that he has in his possession test results of the same milk from a private lab with the exact opposite results to those of the State Lab.

Leventis attributed the mistake “to the state lab because of the workload they have”. “We are not the weakest link so that they can do whatever they want with us,” he said, asking, “Why don’t they mess with the cow farmers?”
