High aflatoxins found in yogurt

ELEVATED levels of aflatoxins were found in homemade sheep yogurt, the Health Services said yesterday.

The Loukia Kayia Ltd yogurt in a 450g plastic container with a production date May 31 and use by date of June 30 was found during the Health Services ongoing aflatoxin screening process.

On the same date the company manufactured 950g yogurts which it has started to withdraw.

Consumers are asked not to consume the yogurt batch and to return them to their points of purchase.
