Armed robbery in Limassol street

A MAN was robbed by a group of armed men while walking in a Limassol street on Sunday morning.

At about 10am, the victim, a foreign national living in Limassol, was approached by two unknown men, who asked him to show them his ID. While the victim was taking out his wallet to get his ID card, the two men attacked him. Two more men, holding a small knife and a piece of wood joined in the attack, and threatened the victim that they would hurt him if he didn’t give them money.

In his effort to defend himself, the victim reached out to grab the knife, but hurt his hand in the process. Then, one of the attackers hit him with the piece of wood on his leg, pushing him to the floor. The gang then took €300 in cash from his wallet. They jumped into a grey car and sped off.

The victim was taken to Limassol General Hospital, where he received first aid and was released. He sustained a wound on the left hand and a bruise to the right leg.

The victim could only give a description of the first two attackers, but was unable to see the other two who arrived later. The two suspects are described as of Arabic features, thin and dark. One of them is about 1.85m tall and the other 1.70m.
