Squatter died of pneumonia

AN AUTOPSY on the body of a 48-year-old squatter found dead in an abandoned hotel in Limassol indicates that the man died of pneumonia.

The autopsy was performed by medical coroner Eleni Antoniou yesterday morning. The man, identified as Gania Gadieskov from Poland, was found lying in the corridor in the second floor of an abandoned seafront hotel in Limassol on Thursday evening.
The hotel has not been operating since 2006 and police believe the man had broken in and had been squatting there for a while.

His body, covered with a dirty blanket, was discovered by a security manager who had gone there to collect furniture to give to charity.
From the condition of his body, it is believed the man had been suffering from malnutrition and heavy alcohol consumption.
