Improvement works for Linopetra

AYIOS Athanasios Council has launched a project to beautify the area south of the Linopetra housing estate, close to the Ayios Stylianos church.

“The execution of this project was a universal demand of the area’s residents to the government authorities,” said the Mayor of Ayios Athanasios, Kyriakos Hadjittofis.

The project is expected to cost £100,000, which will be funded by Town Planning. Works will include the creation of a new parking space, two children play areas, and tree planting. The agreement for the completion of the project was signed on Friday with construction company Yiannos A. Kyriakides. The Council will be responsible for the design of the project.

Ayios Athanasios Council expects that the completion of the project will contribute to the improvement of the daily lives of the residents in the area, as well as providing entertainment to their children. Some of these buildings have recently been delivered for use by multi-member families.

“Our Council will soon move on to the modification of the area surrounding Linopetra Youth Centre in an effort to create a state-of-the-art sporting venue for children,” Hadjittofis added.
