Troodos lashed by hailstorm

A HAILSTORM lashed the lower areas of the Troodos mountain range yesterday afternoon causing problems to some of the roads and low visibility to drivers.

Yesterday, police officials announced that the roads up to and on Troodos had become slippery from the hailstorm and were cautioning drivers to be extra careful.

The area of Kalopanayiotis bore the brunt of the storm with the community leader of the village yesterday telling state radio that no serious damages had been reported in the area.
