Airport taxi drivers were staging a 24-hour warning strike over insurance and diesel prices.
Passengers without any means of transport were forced to carry their luggage to the airport roundabout in search of taxis.

THE CYPRUS Tourism Organisation (CTO) is seeking a meeting with the Interior Ministry after 25 travel agents from China, invited to Cyprus to promote the island at home, were detained for four hours by immigration at Larnaca airport on Tuesday.

Warning on fake cigarettes

BRITISH American Tobacco Cyprus (BAT) has warned that fake brand-cigarettes are circulating in the Cypriot marketplace, most of which are copies of well-known international brands. THE HOUSE last night ratified the European Constitution, becoming the first country to approve the Treaty following its rejection by founder nations France and the Netherlands.

The Treaty was approved by majority vote as government partners AKEL, the only party to do so, voted against.
