National Guard at international counter terrorism exercise in Sweden

Members of the National Guard are taking part in an international counter terrorism exercise, in Sweden, that aims to combat attacks using improvised explosive devices (IED).
According to an announcement by the ministry of defence on Friday, the drill, dubbed “Bison 2016”, is held in the framework of European Defence Agency activities.
The exercise commenced lasts until August 27, with the participation of 23 countries.
Members of the National Guard dealing with a wide range of operational activities that combat improvised explosive devices are taking part at the drill. These include bomb squads, intelligence, Navy SEALs, explosive detection canines and experts in chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defence.
