Customer, 19, suspected of beating bike rental owner who asked him for repair money

A 19-year-old man was arrested Friday in Paralimni following the beating unconscious of a 35-year-old motorcycle rental shop employee after the latter asked him to pay for damages to the bike he had rented, police said.

According to police, at around 5pm the 19-year-old went to the bike rental shop to return the quad he had rented on July 18. He was told by the 35-year-old desk clerk he would have to pay for damage the bike sustained to the tune of €2,000 to €2,500.

At that point, the renter allegedly attacked the shop employee, punching him in the face and knocking him out. The injured man was taken by ambulance to a private clinic and was found to be suffering from amnesia and held for treatment.
