Arrested for child pornography

A 35-year-old man from Nicosia was arrested on Friday in connection with the illegal possession and distribution of child pornography.

The arrest followed a tip off by the Child Protection System (CPS) programme that detected the man had downloaded 121 files containing child pornography.

When the computer of the 35-year-old was inspected by police, 11 illegal files were found.

The suspect was brought before the Nicosia District Court and remanded in custody for six days to facilitate further investigations.
