Limassol woman arrested for robbery and GBH

A 37-year old woman was remanded for six days in Limassol in connection with the robbery of a 39-year-old, and causing grievous bodily harm.

The court heard the 37-year-old was driving a car involved in the incident which took place midday on Wednesday on a Limassol street.

The 39-year old reported to police that, at around 12.10pm while walking out of a shop she was approached by two people in a car, one of whom jumped out the passenger seat, grabbing her handbag from her shoulder.

Trying to hang onto her bag resulted in her falling to the ground and being dragged along the road for some 15 metres. The car then sped off after the culprit managed to dislodge the bag from the complainant.

The woman was then taken to Accident and Emergency at Limassol General Hospital where she was diagnosed with a fractured left patella, abrasions on the left hand and skin loss to her left knee.

Following investigations police secured evidence against a 37-year-old Limassol resident, an arrest warrant was secured and executed by Limassol CID who are investigating the case.
