Missing boy found at house of middle-aged man

An arrest warrant was issued on Monday against a 45-year-old man after it emerged that an eight-year-old boy, reported missing on Sunday, had spent the night in the suspect’s house.
The eight-year-old boy, who was reported missing on Sunday when he disappeared from a park in Ayios Nicolaos in Limassol, was found on Monday morning in the house of the 45-year-old, who lives in the same neighborhood as the boy’s family.
According to reports, the arrest warrant was issued based on what the boy and his 12-year-old sister told police.
Both the boy and his sister were taken to the hospital to be examined, but no signs of sexual abuse were detected. Nevertheless, the two children gave information which urged police to investigate possible indecent assault and sexual exploitation of the children.
According to reports, the children, who have two more siblings, were often visiting the house of the 45-year-old.
The two children were placed temporarily under the care of the social welfare services, as reportedly the family faces a number of problems.
