Spanish rhythms

Under the baton of Iulian Rusu and with soloist Theodore Kerkezos on the saxophone, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra will present a programme of Spanish and Latin American Rhythms, entitled Vivid Dance Rhythms on Thursday in Paphos and on Friday in Nicosia.

The orchestra is hoping to capture the audience’s imagination and get them moving to the Spanish and Latin American rhythms while performing five pieces.

Emmanuel Chabrier’s Habanera will make us sway while Astor Piazzolla’s Tango Suite will bring to life the passion of a tango. Alberto Williams’ Primera suite Argentina, Manuel de Falla’s caustically satirical Three-Cornered Hat and the passionate Ritual Fire Dance from Love the Magician, will all lend themselves to an evening of fiery enjoyment and blazing orchestral fun.
