Songs of tears

The Technopolis 20 Cultural Centre is putting Paphos firmly on the cultural map with its movie screenings, talks, theatre and music performances.

This week the centre will host a piano solo on Thursday and a theatrical performance on Saturday.

The traditional surrounding of the centre will be filled with music played by Bulgarian pianist Galina Dimova on Thursday at 8pm.

The programme will include works by Vardaret Komitas, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Nicolas Economou, Robert Schumann, Sergei Rachmaninov and George Gershwin.

All net proceeds from the event will go to the PAWS Dog Shelter in Paphos.

The theatrical performance Songs of Tears, will be staged on Saturday by Anna Luchina, Elena Barishnikova and Alyona Starko.

The tragicomedy is based on works by Kshishtof Bize and presents the heart-breaking stories of three women, representing three generations.
