Two remanded in cocaine find

Two Nicosia men aged 32 and 31 were remanded for five days at Limassol district court on Saturday after half a kilo of cocaine was found in a car they were driving.

Police are on the hunt for a third suspect.

The two had been arrested a day earlier, when the 32-year-old was driving on the highway from Limassol to Nicosia with the 31-year-old.

Officers stopped the vehicle for a search and found around half a kilo of cocaine in the back seat.

Arrested on the spot, the man aged 32, was found with €1,210 and a search of the 31-year-old’s home found €11,460 in cash.

All the suspects had had run ins with police in the past.
