Supreme Court to hear Sigma boss murder appeals

The Supreme Court will on Wednesday begin hearing the appeals of the four persons convicted for the murder of Sigma boss Andis Hadjicostis in 2010.

The Supreme Court has instructed both sides – defence and prosecution – to prepare written opening statements.

The four appealing their convictions are former Sigma presenter Elena Skordelli, her brother Tasos Krasopoulis, Andreas Gregoriou and Grigoris Xenofontos.

In 2013, they were found guilty as charged: of conspiracy to commit murder and of premeditated murder, a verdict carrying automatic mandatory life imprisonment.

Hadjicostis was gunned down outside his Nicosia home on January 11, 2010.
