A night with great composers

The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra will be joined by soloist Simos Papanas on violin and conductor Julius Kalmar on Thursday in Paphos and on Friday in Nicosia for a Spiritual Seance with Great Composers.

The two concerts will consist of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Coriolan overture, Robert Schumann’s violin concerto in D minor, WoO23, which ranges in mood from stormy to languorous and whimsical.

The concerts will also present Beetoven’s Symphony no. 7 in A major, op. 92, which is considered by the composer as “one of his best works.”
