With yesterday’s total Achilleos and Hasikos levelled the games record set by Achilleos himself together with Antonis Nikolaides at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002.

Jason Hughes Caswell and Richard McBridge of Canada took the silver medal with a total of 191 points, while the English pair Clive Bramley and Richard Brickell who also marked 191 points had to settle for bronze on the countback system as their final round was inferior to the Canadians.

In the Men’s Single Table Tennis event Marios Yiangou reached the quarter-finals yesterday after beating Garry Dodd of Guernsey 4-0 in Round 64 and Canadian Pradeeban Peter-Paul 4-3 in the round of 32. His today’s opponent in the quarters is Almaraj Anthony Arputharaj of India.
