Egyptians eye Paphos cooperation

EGYPTIAN businessmen view Cyprus as a gateway to Europe, according to Paphos mayor Phedonas Phedonos, who met a delegation from Sohag, west of the Nile.

In an announcement on Thursday, the mayor said the two countries traditionally have close ties and in light of the gas reserves found in the region, this relationship has only gotten closer.

After their meeting, Phedonas said Paphos serves as a bridge between North Africa and the Middle East to Europe offering plenty of potential for good cooperation among all stakeholders.

The Egyptian delegation agreed to Phedonos’ proposal for bilateral meetings in both Paphos and Sohag to discuss and agree upon further cooperation.
