Walking the dog(s)

By Maria Gregoriou

This Sunday seems to be a great opportunity to take your dog for a walk, or even take some stray dogs from a shelter for a walk.

There are two dog walks going on, the first will begin at the The Sirius Dog Sanctuary in Moni, Limassol.

The sanctuary is home to over 170 stray dogs. All volunteers involved in taking care of these dogs, invite us to join them for the first dog walk of the year on Sunday.

It is really a great day out for the whole family as it is not all about taking your dog for a walk, as there will also be some homemade goodies and coffee for you to enjoy over some chit-chat with other dog lovers.

Registration will start at 10.30am and the walk will start at 11am.

The second dog walk will be at the Dog Valley Rescue Centre in Pareklissia, Limassol from 10am until 4pm.

Go along and help walk some of the 300 dogs at the centre, and who knows, you could leave with a dog all of your own, if you don’t already own one.

The centre will also be accepting donations of dog food, bedding, towels, newspapers and cleaning products to help take better care of the dogs.
