Arrest escaped in Paphos

A man suspected to be involved in drug circles narrowly escaped arrest in Paphos early on Saturday morning.

Followed by two drug squad vehicles on Friday night at Alexandrou Ypsilanti road, the suspect, a permanent resident in Cyprus, stopped his car as his partner wanted to go to the kiosk.

Officers tried to block his vehicle however he hit the front of one the drug squad’s cars and managed to get away in an unknown direction.

His partner was taken in for questioning however police are still on the hunt for him.
