ETYK’s coop strike an act of provocation, Georgiades says

Finance Minister Harris Georgiades has described the 48-hour strike at the bailed-out cooperative banks announced by bank workers’ union ETYK for today and Friday as “an unacceptable and irresponsible act”.

In an emailed statement, Georgiades said that the strike action “undermines efforts for the final stabilisation of the financial system and the recovery of the economy”.

The Cyprus Mail is the only English-language daily newspaper published in Cyprus.
