Second man arrested in Paphos road death

A 50-year-old owner of a vehicle involved the road death of a woman in Paphos was arrested on Friday.

Sniezka Zabowska, 46, died on December 8 after a man, aged 56 reversed into her after she had stepped out of a colleague’s vehicle.

An inspection by the electromechanical department found the man’s car pedal and brakes were faulty hence the second suspect, who is the asset manager of the company the vehicle was registered to, was arrested.

The incident took place of Platonos street, in Geroskipou shortly after 2.30pm.

The 56-year-old man was speeding and critically injured the victim.

Her death was confirmed by doctors at the Paphos general hospital where she was rushed by ambulance.

The driver was also taken to the hospital where he suffered a nervous breakdown.
