IMF team providing technical assistance for post-solution Cyprus plan

The International Monetary Fund is providing technical assistance on the economic aspects of the post-settlement Cyprus, Gerry Rice of IMF`s communications department has said.

Rice was asked to elaborate on the work am IMF team is doing on the island in relation to a Cyprus solution.

“The IMF has been asked to provide technical assistance on the economic aspects of the- post settlement Cyprus,” Rice said, adding:  “We stand ready to aid the two communities in finding sustainable economic solutions”.

He said the help comprised of “technical assistance providing capacity building in our areas of strength – our areas of expertise; the macro-economic framework, the financial and fiscal affairs and statistics”.
