Souvla skewer attack

A 36-YEAR-OLD man from Larnaca was arrested on Friday after allegedly attacking and injuring a 48-year-old man with a souvla skewer.
The incident, police said, occurred on Friday morning at a billiard hall in Kokkines area in Larnaca, when the 36-year-old for unknown reasons attacked and hit a 48-year-old man from Kellia with a souvla skewer which he used as a bat.
Following the attack, the 48-year-old ran off and got into his car, but the 36-year-old did the same, and allegedly drove his car into the victim’s car, damaging both vehicles.
The 48-year-old was transferred to the Larnaca general hospital, where he was diagnosed with fractures to the left arm, injuries on the elbow, and bruises on the back and the ribcage. He had his wounds treated and was released.
The perpetrator was arrested after a chase, police said. He was charged in writing and was released, and is to appear before court at a later stage.
