93 jolly years?

Sir,
It is, I suppose, pardonable for the Duchess of Devonshire (Books page, Sunday Mail, November 2) to regret that Anne de Courcy’s biography of her sister Diana (née Mosley) does not convey the aura of laughter that the Duchess recalls surrounded her.

For the rest of us, choosing to marry Oswald Mosley in Joseph Goebbels’ drawing-room drowns out 93 years of jolly laughter.
