CY puts on extra flights

CYPRUS Airways has announced it is putting on extra flights to meet the increased summer demand.
The national carrier will add 90 extra flights between August 11 and September 1, after an increase in demand for flights to and from the island.
The carrier flew 33,000 passengers to and from Cyprus between August 10-13 alone, and has averaged about 8,000 passengers a day so far this month.
A spokesman for the airline said the majority of Cyprus Airways passengers were destined for Greece — the most popular holiday destination among Cypriots.
A rush on flights is also anticipated next month, when many Cypriot students leave the island for studies abroad.
