Small fortune in counterfeit bills

POLICE yesterday were holding three Limassol men for questioning after the discovery of counterfeit money amounting to a total of $77,300 in American hundred-dollar bills.
The authorities were tipped off that a 30-year-old and two 23-year-old men had picked up an unknown package under a bridge in Limassol. Their car was tracked down in Larnaca, where police said one of the men got out and showed an unknown man the contents of the car.
The two men tried to run away when police and one of the younger men was seen tossing a small bag away. On inspection they found 773 forged notes. The unknown man got away.
