SIMERINI: “Reprisals following the sackings at Cyprus Airways” Simerini newspaper focuses on the reactions of various unions and political parties following the latest layoffs at Cyprus Airways. The newspaper quotes that warnings of reprisals are being made by unions towards the board of directors at Cyprus Airways particularly after the sacking of 12 managerial personnel of the company and the expected wave of more sackings.

HARAVGHI: ‘Bishops stand in for elections’ The paper reports on the election race which is to begin at the Holy Synod following a request from Bishop Nikiforos of Kykkos. The paper also highlights the only disapproval of the election by Bishop Chrysostomos of Kiti.

MACHI: “Kykkos requests honorable release for the Archbishop” Machi newspaper focuses on the unanimous decision of the holy synod of the church of Cyprus to proceed towards elections for a new archbishop after the request by the Bishop of Kykkos for an honorable release for Archbishop Chrysostomos.
