Peter’s parents give the thumbs down to Jordan

CYPRIOT-born pop sensation Peter Andre has apparently been given a “big fat Greek NO!” from his parents after taking his fiancée, British supermodel Jordan, to meet his mum and dad in Cyprus.

Hopes of getting a blessing from Andre’s parents were dashed when Savvas, 60, and Thea, 62, gave the thumbs down to busty Jordan, who reacted angrily, sparking a full-blown row.

One source told the Daily Mirror, “From the outset it was clear things weren’t going to go smoothly. Thea and Savvas told Peter there were a number of reasons why they didn’t want them to get married. They said they weren’t happy with what she had done in the past and with the fact she is still doing some glamour modeling.”

Jordan, who made the effort to impress his mom and dad by leaving aside her usual skimpy attire for something more conservative is reported to be very let down with the situation.

In 1992 and 1993, Andre, who has since had hits with ‘Mysterious Girl’, ‘Flava’, ‘I Feel You’, and ‘I’m a Celebrity’, defied the odds by becoming a pop star in Australia when the last thing the country was looking for was a singing dancing muscle flexing R&B pop hero. In 1995 he achieved the near-impossible again by repeating the same feat across Europe. Andre had brief stint in Cyprus last year helping out at his brother’s gym in Larnaca, following the drying up of his singing career. However, he recently re-entered the public eye after his appearance on the reality show Survivor, where he met Jordan.

Originally named Katie Price, Jordan grew up in Brighton. The decision to start modeling came after a friend suggested she have some photographs taken professionally. The pictures were sent to a modeling agency in London, and to her amazement, the agency invited her into their studios for a photo shoot, and to discuss a contract. Within weeks, Katie began appearing on page 3 of the national newspapers, and it was at this time when she changed her name to Jordan. Jordan has since been in the celebrity spotlight for her modeling as well as for her high-profile flings.
