Don’t complain about paradise

Sir,
I read with utter amazement the letters from expats now lucky to live full time in paradise, complaining about food prices.

I am unfortunate not to be full time in Cyprus, only managing six weeks a year, but surely when comparing the costs in Cyprus with the UK you have to look at the full picture. How much more are electricity, water , telephones, wine and even beer in the UK. Not to mention local rates, crime, the weather, etc.

If things really are that tough in Cyprus the answer is you can always make a one way trip the other way. Then within a week you will realise it is paradise lost.
