Lufthansa e tickets now available at travel agencies

GERMAN airline Lufthansa yesterday announced that its electronic tickets can now be issued not only by the Lufthansa ticket office, but also by travel agencies working with Galileo reservation systems.

The airline said that since it first introduced its ETIX system three years ago, it has been permanently working on technical solutions for offering travel agencies the ability to use of electronic ticketing.

“Now travellers doing flight reservations through agencies can book their Lufthansa flights with a simple telephone call. The passengers do not need to pick up the paper ticket at their agency, but just proceed to the airport on the day of departure. At check-in the Miles & More member card, credit card or just an ID has to be presented for issuing the boarding pass,” a Lufthansa announcement said.

It said that electronic ticketing by travel agencies was a great breakthrough for the Cypriot market. “The possibility of electronic ticketing saves time and money for the passengers as well as for the travel agency,” it added.
