Potato farmers ‘will be heard’

AGRICULTURE Minister Timis Efthimiou stated yesterday that the demands and suggestions given by the potato farmers will be heard and discussed on so that the government may accommodate them the best possible way.

He also added that during the discussion plans will also be made to make the potato farming field stronger and more resistant. When the Minister was asked about the bad eggs in Italy assured everyone that there have never been any imports from Italy – even before joining the EU.

Drug haul

MEMBERS of the Drug Enforcement Agency in Limassol following a tip went to an area close to the Limassol General Hospital at around 8pm on Thursday where they found a nylon bag containing 600 grams of a substance believed to be cannabis. The findings were taken to the lab for further tests.
