Nestl? withdraw 30 million litres of contaminated baby milk in Italy

SWISS FOOD Company Nestl? announced yesterday that it has withdrawn all baby milk products that had been contaminated with ink.

The traces were found in Italy and other European countries, though the company has assured that the traces do not pause a threat to infants’ health.

A Nestl? representative said that the polluted milk had also been withdrawn from France, Spain and Portugal.

The Italian police announced yesterday that it had seized around 30 million litres of baby milk following tests that showed that some of them were contaminated.

The Nestl? representative stated, that in total two million litres were found in Italy while in other countries the quantities were much less.

The representative also said that the company has adopted a new packaging procedure to avoid future contamination.
