A taste of their own medicine

Sir,

I have very little sympathy for Lycourgos Kyprianou and his well-dressed wife. Freezing their bank accounts may give them a taste of what it was like for the 6,000 investors in AremisSoft who lost small and large fortunes in his company. Many AremisSoft investors, in fact, have not been able to live in the manner to which they were accustomed: some retirees have had to go back to work; other defrauded investors have suffered nervous breakdowns or contemplated suicide.

The arrogance of this man (who once claimed he didn’t need money because he already owned the largest house in Cyprus) is astounding – and matched only by his apparent greed and total shamelessness.

Furthermore I find £4,000 per month for clothing a bit excessive. (Maybe clothes are one thing they never learned to launder.)

I hope the courts in Cyprus will ensure that justice is served.
