Brit selling himself as a human billboard

A BRITISH man is offering his body as a human billboard in an online auction. The man, identified only as Tommy, is offering businesses the chance to advertise themselves on a billboard that he will wear for a week and walk around Paphos come rain or shine.

The scheme is said to be the first of its kind on the island. In the auction site at 15minutesauction.com, Tommy says: “Hi, if you’ve got a business why not advertise it in a brilliantly unique way – on me!”

“I’m prepared to wear a sandwich board advertising your business and walk around the Paphos area for a week. No other business on the island promotes themselves in such an eye catching way.

“How much would your company benefit from being on the island’s only human advertising board? Bidding for a Human Billboard starts at just £1.00.”

Tommy says he hopes to raise at least £100 from the auction.

A spokesman for 15minutesauction.com said: “This is quite an unusual auction but, as long as the rules of 15minutes auction are adhered to, we don’t see any problem with it. It’s a brilliant way for any company to advertise themselves and we’re sure Tommy will get a great response.”

This is the not the first time the Cyprus based website 15minutesauction.com – the Mediterranean’s equivalent to the eBay auction site – has attracted curiosity. It recently offered a breast enhancement operation and a date with a 30-year-old British woman in Paphos to the highest bidders.

The date with ‘Jezebel’ raised around £100, which went to charity, while the bid for bigger boobs was snatched by Athens-based Anastasia for 1,050 euros.
