There are lots of products out there but whoch are the ones you should be buying?
NEW and innovative products are developed by the beauty industry at such a fast rate that it is hard to keep up or decide which products to choose. Should one choose a product containing liposomes, hyaluronic acid, retinal, vitamin C or the latest new fangled wonder ingredient? Here is a small selection of products which have proved to be the best of their type and why.
Cleansers and Toners
Guinot wins hands down. Their cleansers are very gentle, effective, non-greasy, fresh and won’t irritate or block even the most sensitive or temperamental skins. Of the five cleansers they produce, one is sure to be perfect for your skin.

Face Masks
There are a few good masks on the market however two of the best ever are Guinot’s Masque Essentiel and Beauty Revealer Mask. The former is a creamy, essential-oil mask with a unique texture that perfectly suits complexions which need ‘pepping up’ ie those that are tired, dull, sallow, have no colour or poor circulation, or with dark circles under the eyes. It gives a lovely fresh glow to the face and suits everyone, except those with very greasy or highly reactive skins. This mask has been the beauty therapists’ favourite worldwide for well over twenty years.
Beauty Revealer Mask is a gorgeous, clear, oil-free gel mask. It’s main characteristic is that it very gently sloughs off dead skin and grime due to the fruit acids it contains. With regular use it really smoothes skins with rough, uneven texture due to blocked pores, neglect or build up of dead cells. Suits all skins except excessively dry or broken skin.
Sun Creams
There are some wonderful sun products on the market but one of my all time favourites for texture and skin compatibility is Jurlique’s Sun Cream SPF 30+. It feels and smells fresh and light and doesn’t irritate sensitive skins. It’s great for men and children too. The ingredients are mainly organic and it protects from UVA, UVB and UVC rays. Jurlique is well known for organic products and is favoured by celebrities and discerning consumers worldwide.
Essential Oils
Jurlique Essential Oils are among the purest, highest quality essential oils on the market. They are totally organic and unadulterated, and therefore have better therapeutic properties than cheaper, non-organic, or lower grade essential oils.
Nail Conditioners
The best available are Creative’s Solar Oil and Solar Balm. They are both made from a combination of natural oils and are indispensable for treating dry cuticles, nails, heels and elbows. They smell divine and are a must-have in your handbag.
Under-Eye Concealer/Skin brightener
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat is an absolute Godsend when you want morning pallor or under eye circles to disappear but don’t want that made-up, dry, or cakey look which some concealers give, emphasising smile lines. The best features of this product are that it seems invisible once it’s on and can be used on its own on bare skin. It can also be used over cheeks or to highlight dark shadows under the creases of the nostrils and corners of the mouth. No 1 is perfect for very fair complexions, No 2 for fair to medium and No 3 is great on darker, olive, Mediterranean colouring. Another must-have.
Skin Regenerating Serum
Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair is a great product to use if you need extra help with skin which is dull, sun-damaged, lined or needs a boost. Gives skin the extra daily hydration it needs to ensure optimum condition. It has a beautiful, light, fluid texture and is used morning and evening under moisturiser. This product has been a worldwide success and a consumer favourite for the past 20 years.
Face Powders
Chanel’s Poudre Universelle Libre is one of the lightest, most natural looking loose powders for use over foundation. Use over a thin fluid foundation, which has been sparingly applied, for a natural look.
For a quick, convenient touch up, Estee Lauder’s range of compact press powders are excellent. Fine-textured with some of the best colours commercially available to suit your particular skin colour and type.
