Biker killed in Nicosia traffic lights collision

A 30-year old Russian man was killed when the motorbike he was driving was in a collision with a car at a traffic lights in Nicosia on Sunday afternoon, police said.

His pillion passenger, a compatriot aged 25, was injured but not seriously and was kept in at Nicosia general hospital being treated for shock. The car driver was not injured.

The accident happened early in the afternoon at the Themistocles Dervis traffic lights where it crosses Diagorou.

Police are investigating whether the motorbike or the car had run the red light.
