Drugs suspected in woman’s death

POLICE were yesterday investigating a suspected drug overdose believed to have killed a 32-year-old woman in Nicosia.

The woman’s body was found after the woman was reported missing since 11pm on Friday night. Using the help of a locksmith, Omorfita police officers entered the woman’s apartment in Nicosia and found her lying unconscious in her bed.

The 32-year-old was pale and didn’t have any external bruising. The scene was photographed and various items were sent to forensics for testing. The young woman was transported to Nicosia general hospital where she was pronounced dead.

State pathologist Sophocles Sophocleous will carry out an autopsy on the 32-year-old this morning to determine the exact cause of death, police said.
