Madame Butterfly set to fly into Paphos

AFTER the signing of an agreement in Tergesty Italy yesterday, the government announced that Giacomo Puccini’s Madame Butterfly will officially be the tenth opera to be presented in the Paphos Aphrodite Festival on August 29, 30 and 31, 2008.

During its showing in Tergesty, the president of the administrative council of the festival and Mayor of Paphos, Savvas Vergas, had the chance to meet with the members of the local officials, the Mayor of Tergesty, the president of the town’s council, the chamber of commerce, and the Greek community there, to exchange ideas about different subjects for development of the plans, and the chance for a cooperation between the two towns.
