Why did we buy a stamp?

Sir,

Is it just Kouklia that is affected by a laissez faire attitude to postal delivery?

We are part of some new developments, extending the older village area, and we are told that for the local postal employee it is “too difficult” to deliver the mail, so it is locked in an office for weeks, or even forever unless we complain to Paphos District Office.

No heed is taken to complaints and the situation is not redressed. The local council will not do anything as it is not under their jurisdiction. The police do not really care as apparently here in Cyprus it is not a criminal or civil offense to withhold mail from the population. In fact their answer to the problem is to “collect your own mail when the office is open”.

Did I get it wrong or do we buy a stamp for an end to end service?
Ms G Jordan, Kouklia
